Seeds for a
Bible-themed Garden

The Holy Bible provides excellent examples of life in our ancient agrarian past.  The history, teachings, principles an practices have survived for thousands of years.  There is no better way to gain more insight into these messages, than to learn about agriculture through gardening.

The following is intended to help you select plants for your own Bible-themed garden.  Each of the following plants is annotated with referring Bible verses.

The book of Genesis teaches that God said, "Let the earth put forth vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, upon the earth." Gen. 1:11.

Herbs

Coriander (Cilantro)
Coriandrum sativu

The seeds are used as a flavoring for meats, pickles, sausages, and sauces.  In this form, the spice is known as coriander.  The leaves are also used fresh in soups, salads and salsas.
