1/3/10 - Happy New Year! Harvest was very late this year and so availability updates to the web site are slow. Please check back often.

Quickly filling orders is still a priority. During this time of year, it is always challenging and keeps us working 14 to 16 hours a day. We are presently getting seed orders mailed out in 10 to 15 days and candy in 3 to 5 days. Thank you for your patience.

12/17/09 - Well the year is quickly coming to an end. Harvest was very late this year and so availability updates to the web site are slow. Please check back often.

Quickly filling orders is still a priority. We are presently getting seed orders mailed out in 7 to 10 days and candy in 2 to 3.

11/2/09 - Fall is here, crops are harvested and in barns, the fields are cleaned up ready for spring, and over the next few weeks, we will be working on preparing seeds for next season.

Quickly filling orders is still a priority. We are presently getting seed orders mailed out in 7 to 10 business days.

9/2/09 - Summer is quickly winding down here on the farm. Fall weather is in the air and we are frantically trying to wrap up summer outside construction and maintenance projects as well as harvest and prepare for next year

Quickly filling orders is our priority task. We are presently getting them mailed out in 1 to 3 days.

5/11/09 - We have finally gotten the work backlog whittled way down.

We are presently filling and mailing orders in 2 to 3 days (sometimes less).

4/21/09 - Thanks to a lot of hard work by all of the crew here, we have finally gotten the work backlog whittled way down.  We are presently filling and mailing orders in 5 to 7 work days (sometimes less).

We do appreciate your orders and patience.

4/3/09 - After successfully moving into a larger facility, implementing software that improves our order fulfillment process, getting extra help, and weeks of 16 to 18 hour days, we are finally getting closer and closer to the fast turn-around times you have known us by.

Our current backlog is 7 to 10 business days.

We do appreciate your orders and patience.

3/1/09 - It is absolutely true that there can be too much of a good thing!

We appreciate all the support you are sending our way but we now have so much work that we now have about a three week backlog on seed orders.

We are implementing new software and procedures and hope to get our turn-around times fast again.

Candy orders are being filled twice a week.

We do appreciate your patience and please consider the above information prior to ordering.

2/9/09 - We truly appreciate all of the orders that you folks are sending our way. The volume this year has caught us a little unprepared and understaffed.  We are working hard to keep our order turn-around times to 10 working days or less. We do appreciate your patience!

1/18/09 - The U.S.P.S. implemented another price increase.  Further increases are expected again in May.  We still have held off on implementing a minimum order requirement, but our shipping and handling fees have had to be increased to help offset costs.  Click here for more information.

Click here for as address from Mike Dunton for 2009

1/16/09 - Thank you for your support.  As we start the 2009 sales season, we are still trying to get all of the seed we have ready for sale, the web site updated nightly, and getting orders out as quickly as possible. We greatly appreciate your patience. Our current order backlog is about 10 working days.

1/2/09 - We made it through the snow and ice storms but it has moved right into unusually wet and miserable weather.  Life here on the farm is not very "laid back" at the moment.  Please be patient.  Our current backlog is about 5 to 8 working days.

1/1/09 - In an effort to create "living wages" for employees, the State of Oregon has increased minimum wage to $8.40 per hour.  Add to this the other burdens an employer must cover (state and federal taxes, insurances, employee benefits, etc.) and the cost of hiring an employee in Oregon is now the second highest in the nation.  Click here for more information about how this affects your order.

12/22/08 - Snow and ice storms are slowing work to a crawl. Highways are closed in areas, trucking is stopped, but our power is on, we are warm, and we are working on filling orders.

IMPORTANT NOTICE 12/15/08:  Although we have always published a printed catalog, events have led us to the decision that we will not be printing a 2009 edition.

If you have been keeping up with current events, you know that costs have been skyrocketing in all sectors of the economy and we are getting hit from all sides.  We experienced increases in postage, processing fees, labor, and raw material costs.

Political decisions requiring ethanol and biodiesel in fuel blends at the pump in 2008 provided farmers with a huge incentive to take their fields out of food and seed production and plant corn and soy exclusively for ethanol and biodiesel fuel production.  You probably experienced this as increases in your grocery and restaurant bills.  This was magnified by a generally poor to disastrous growing season in much of the country contributing to additional seed shortages.

As a result, we were not able to predict what seeds we would have available by the deadline to produce a catalogue.  This made the decision not to print a 2009 edition a bit easier.  It has been an expensive and money losing effort for several years.  That is, the cost of printing and mailing was more costly than the income they generated.

Therefore since the cost to produce, publish and mail a paper catalog will require more capital outlay than we typically bring in through catalog sales, we won't be printing one for the 2009 season.

Let's all hope and pray that things turn around for the better in 2009 and we will reevaluate and hopefully produce one for the 2010 season.

It is certainly not our intention to upset and alienate our gardening friends that do not use computers, but this year especially, we have to consider the survival of our organization as a primary concern.  Orders can still be mailed or faxed using our web site as a catalog (at the library or a friend's house perhaps).  A copy of our order form can be downloaded and printed by clicking here.
